The burden

We're praying
for a generation.

Across Australia, faithful children’s and youth ministry workers, Sunday school teachers and school chaplains turn up every week to tell children about Jesus. Many do it tired. Many do it without a team. Many do it wondering if anyone is praying for them.

The need is plain. A generation is being formed by a thousand voices that are not the voice of the Good Shepherd.

We’re not pretending it isn’t hard. And we are not pretending God is silent in response to our prayers either.

The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is still at work — calling, equipping, and drawing children to the Father. So on the seventeenth of June we’ll stop everything and ask Him to keep moving. We expect He will.

“Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labour in vain.”
Psalm 127:1

The night

Ninety minutes,
held lightly,
held together.

A simple shape. Plenty of room for the Spirit to lead. You won’t be put on the spot, and you’ll never be far from a friendly face.

  1. Gather & sung praise

Doors open from 7:30 pm. We begin the way the Church has always begun — with our voices lifted to the One who hears our prayers.

  2. Scripture & a Word of Hope

Anchoring messages from Children's and Youth Ministers and God’s Word — naming the work, naming the hope, setting our prayer on the Firm Foundation.

  3. Guided prayer for children’s and youth ministry

Together we’ll bring the names, the schools, the churches, the workers and the children before the Father - Praying out loud, in groups and in moments of silence.

  4. Response, blessing & sending

We finish with thanksgiving, a benediction, and the chance to be prayed for personally if that's something you’d like.

Youth Ministry
Futures

“A future where every young Australian has access to a youth minister who stays.”

Youth Ministry Futures is a cross-denominational fellowship working for well-formed, full-time, long-term youth ministry across Australia — youth ministry as a vocation, not a stepping stone. We’re applying to Australian youth ministry the mission-agency model that built CMS and Pioneers: recruiting, equipping, placing and sustaining the youth ministers our churches need.

Prayer is where it all begins. Night of Hope is one expression of that conviction.
